Besides faith and family, I can’t think of anything more important to the U.S. than Education. By some metrics, the U.S. is losing badly to China in the Education race. This HAS to be addressed immediately. Obviously, as a degreed and certified teacher, I know that public schools offer a great deal of value. But, sadly, in some cases our public schools are failing badly, and I’m also a proponent of school choice - like any other market, parents should have the freedom to choose where their kids go to school.
My own commitment to education comes from being raised by parents who attended Duke University. Inspired by their examples, I myself now have three post-secondary degrees, including:
